The club's name refers to the various forts located in the area during the fur trading era. The "Club de golf de la Vallée des Forts" was inaugurated in 1996. Mr. Robert Lanciault, a well-known businessman in the area, was the driving force behind the course's construction and development. His efforts were guided by Robbie Hellstrom, who was involved in the construction of many courses.

Its goal is to be a pleasant and relaxing place, where golfers can enjoy a good challenge and a quality course.
